Nervous But Sympathetic !

In this study, the Mann team showed that pancreatic cancer development promotes the sprouting and growth of sympathetic axons.

The tumor-infiltrated sympathetic nerve fibers act as a brake on cancer progression by preventing recruitment of tumor-promoting macrophages. These findings may have implications for the targeted manipulation of nerves and neural signaling in cancer therapy.
