Benoit Aigouy, from the Prud’homme team, developed EPySeg, an open-source software that uses deep learning to segment membrane-stained epithelial tissues, from any organism, automatically and very efficiently. EPyseg, which can be used on a local computer, or in the cloud via Google Colab, will accelerate and improve the characterization of epithelial tissues for all developmental biologists interested in tissue-scale morphogenesis.
